The time it upon us! Now that round 12 is complete, eligible Irish Hillclimb drivers are being contacted regarding entering the most high profile event in our sport – the FIA Hillclimb Masters. This year the event is being held in Sternberk, Czech Republic on 8/9th October.
Clash of champions, clash of nation
Competitors eligibility is based upon Championship standings following Round 12 (MEC Sprints). Those placing in the top 5 Overall and those leading their class will be eligible to submit an entry for the Sternberk event. While eligibility does not guarantee an entry, it does permit drivers to submit an entry to the organisers and, based upon the 2014 Edition, entries are likely to be forthcoming.
To receive an entry is one task, however to make it to the Czech Republic with your competition car, tools, spares, tyres and team seems quite another task indeed. The outlay and time required will be significant for this 4,400km round trip.
The question is now which drivers will decide to embark on this huge adventure. Ferries, diesel and tolls all add up. We wish the drivers luck in their decision to travel to Sternberk!
