2010 Marshall Training Day Sat 10th April 11am to 1 pm
The hillclimb marshals are some of the most important people involved in running a successful and safe Hillclimb event. In acknowledgment of this and to help these superb volunteers there will be a Hillclimb marshal training day in New Ross run in association with the Hillclimb and Sprint Committee and The CCLWT club. This is the first promises to be a groundbreaking day with practical training for all involved with a first ever live demonstration of the duties of a flag marshal taking place at the hotel.
This event will take place in the Brandon House Hotel in New Ross from 11 am to 1 pm and all marshals and people interested in marshalling are welcome to attend.
The aim of the training day is to familiarize all marshals with the way a successful and safe hillclimb event is run.
There will be a presentation in the hotel on the duties of a flag marshal for a short time and also a practical display of cars, both single seater and saloons where the different safety systems of each type of car can be explained. Fire extinguisher systems, cut off switches etc.
There will also be a live demonstration hillclimb run with different scenarios for flag marshals to show the different possible scenarios for flag marshals.
All marshals and people who are interested in marshalling are welcome from all over the country, and we hope to see you there.
